Your Simple Guide to E6 Connect and the Garmin Approach R10
E6 Connect is one of the ways to turn your Garmin Approach R10 into a full simulator, and it's also one of the most common sources of confusion. TruGolf builds E6 Connect for a lot of different systems, so the options and pricing for the R10 specifically aren't easy to pin down without calling a sales rep. This guide clears that up. First, two quick facts about how the two work together:
- On the R10, E6 Connect runs only through the Garmin Golf app. The app is free, and from there you can add premium content, including Home Tee Hero, which starts with a free 30-day trial and then runs $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year.
- E6 Connect for the R10 works on iOS or a Windows PC, not on Android or Mac. TruGolf says more platforms are in the works. The setup steps for both are further down.
E6 Connect Pricing for the R10
Every Approach R10 comes with 5 free E6 Connect courses on iOS. Past that, you have two paths: buy a license outright, or subscribe. Pricing is set by TruGolf and changes over time, so confirm current rates before you buy.
One-Time License (never expires)
- PC license, $2,500: 27 courses, 17 practice areas, player profiles, the Clubhouse feature, and modes of play.
- iOS license, $1,500: 15 courses, 17 practice areas, player profiles, and modes of play.
Annual Subscription
- Basic, $300 a year: 27 courses, 12 rotating content pieces, practice areas, player profiles, modes of play, peer-to-peer play, and online events.
- Expanded, $600 a year: 96 courses, plus the same practice areas, profiles, modes of play, peer-to-peer play, and online events.

Buy PC subscriptions through the E6 portal, or grab iOS subscriptions inside the game.
What You Get With E6 Connect
The full E6 Connect library is available right on your R10, with photorealistic courses you can play any time. A subscription, run through the Garmin Golf app, opens up new courses, mini games, skills combines, training aids, and more. The engine is built to scale and supports cross-platform play, so you can compete with golfers on other systems, and it works on both PC and iOS for teaching, training, playing, and competing.
On the technical side, E6 Connect is 4K compatible, the interface has been rebuilt to be easy to use, and a deep set of customizable settings puts you in control of the in-game experience.
Upgrades include:
- Real-time peer-to-peer
- Local multiplayer
- iOS compatibility
- Live statistic tracking
- 4K graphics and new ocean animation
- Enhanced physics
- Authentic stimp rating
It's more than a game, too. You can track every shot you hit under your profile and sort your history by date, round, or club, which turns E6 into a real teaching and improvement tool.
How to Connect the Garmin Golf App to E6 Connect
Getting connected is quick. Here's how it works on each platform.
iOS or the PC Desktop App
In the Garmin Golf app, open Golf Sim, then TruGolf E6 Connect, then choose Play on iOS or Play on PC. Follow the on-screen prompts.
Full Walk Through for a Windows 10 PC
E6 Connect isn't available for Mac. To connect a Windows 10 PC, start by selecting Virtual Play in the Garmin Golf app, then:
- Right-click This PC on your computer. Can't find it? Type "This PC" in the search field.
- Select Properties.
- Note the computer name.
- Enter that name in the Garmin Golf app.
- Tap Test Connection. If it fails, add ".local" to the end of the name and try again.
If that doesn't connect, use your PC's IPv4 address instead. Again, select Virtual Play in the app, then:
- Open Settings on your computer. Can't find it? Type "Settings" in the search field.
- Select Network & Internet.
- Choose your connection type (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and so on).
- Click Hardware Properties.
- Enter the IPv4 address in the Garmin Golf app.
- Tap Test Connection.
Is E6 Connect Worth It for Your R10?
It comes down to how you'll use the R10. If you bought it for the simulator side, E6 Connect adds real value: professional tools, competition, and entertainment. For anyone into photorealistic play who wants to sharpen their game, it's an easy yes. License or subscription comes down to two things: whether you're on an iOS device or a PC, and how long you plan to keep using it. E6 Connect delivers a lot of quality simulation and keeps rolling out upgrades, so if you're going to put real time into your Garmin Approach R10 as a simulator, it's a smart buy either way.
