Where the Approach® R10 uses Doppler radar and relies on your smartphone for data and course play, the Approach® R50 uses three high-speed cameras and comes with a 10-inch built-in color touchscreen — so you get more precise club and ball data, high-speed impact video, and access to 43,000 plus courses directly on the device without needing your phone in front of you.
Where does the Approach R50 sit during use?
The Approach® R50 is positioned to the side of the hitting area rather than behind the ball. This gives it a clear line of sight to the club and ball at impact without requiring extra room depth behind your mat, making it a great fit for the PlayBetter Studio in a garage or basement.
What metrics does the Approach R50 track?
The Approach® R50 captures more than 15 ball and club metrics per swing. Ball metrics include direct measurements of ball speed, launch angle, spin rate, and spin axis. Club metrics include direct measurements of club speed and club angles. You also get carry distance, total distance, smash factor, apex height, and club path — giving you a complete picture of both what the ball is doing and what your club is doing at impact.
What makes the built-in touchscreen useful during practice?
The 10-inch color touchscreen means all your data, impact videos, and course play are right in front of you on the device.
